Understand the certificate
What an EPC tells you — and what it doesn’t
An Energy Performance Certificate is a standardised snapshot of a home’s energy performance. It rates the property from A (most efficient) to G on a modelled scale, lists the construction and heating details an assessor recorded, and suggests improvement measures. It is a useful starting point for comparing homes, but it is a model of the building rather than a survey, a bill forecast, or advice tailored to your situation.
EPC Checker brings the public record together in one view so you can find a certificate quickly and read it in context. To get the most from it, it helps to know how the rating is built, what the recommendations really mean, and when a fresh assessment is worthwhile. Our plain-English guides cover exactly that.
